O COMÉRCIO foi o único setor a fechar vagas de empregos formais (com carteira assinada) no mês de outubro na cidade, de acordo com os dados divulgados pelo Cadastro Geral de Empregados e Desempregados (Caged). O saldo no setor foi negativo em 10 postos de trabalho, de acordo com o Ministério do Trabalho.
Os demais setores, mesmo que timidamente, registraram saldo positivo, o maior deles no de Serviço, com 20 contratações. O saldo final foi de 12 vagas criadas.
O saldo no ano (janeiro a outubro) continua negativo, com a demissão de 286 trabalhadores, 126 no setor de Serviços e 87 na Indústria de Transformação. Se computados os últimos doze meses, o saldo negativo é ainda maior, com o fechamento de 609 vagas, das quais 253 no setor de Serviços e 238 na Indústria. Também tiveram saldos negativos o Comércio, a Construção Civil e a Agropecuária.
Na comparação com o mesmo período de 2015, o desemprego aumentou 14%. Naquele ano foram fechadas 534 vagas.
